Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 19, 2026

Charactorium (“the App”, “we”, “us”) is a cultural quiz and collection game published by Zwyk Studio, available on the Pi Network platform and on the web. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why, and your rights. We keep it deliberately short and honest.

1. Who we are

The App is operated by Zwyk Studio. For any privacy request, contact us at zwykstudio@gmail.com.

2. Data we collect

We only collect what the game needs to work:

  • Account and sign-in method — you can play as a guest (an anonymous device identifier, with no personal data, that saves your progress), and later, if you wish, link an account using one of these methods:
    • Pi — your Pi Network user id (uid) and username, provided by the Pi SDK. Only if you sign in with Pi.
    • Google — if you choose “Sign in with Google”, Google provides us your Google id and email address (via OAuth) to identify your account. We do not access anything else in your Google account.
  • Game progression — your scores, your collection of revived figures, and your in-game virtual currencies (Stars, Lueur, Sagesse), stored as your game profile.
  • Day and month of birth (optional) — if you choose to provide it, we store only the day and month, never the year. It is used solely to show you historical figures born on the same day, and is never shared.
  • Pi transactions — when you make a purchase, we receive from the Pi API the payment identifier, amount, and status, so we can credit what you bought and keep a purchase record. Payments are made only through Pi Network.

3. Data we do NOT collect

  • No phone number. We hold an email address only if you sign in with Google (Google provides it); if you play as a guest or sign in with Pi, we hold no email address at all.
  • No third-party tracking, no advertising, no advertising identifiers, no marketing profiling. Google sign-in, if you use it, is used for authentication only — never for advertising or tracking.
  • We do not build behavioural advertising profiles.

4. Cookies and local storage

The App uses technical local storage / cookies only — strictly to keep you signed in (including a session cookie for web sign-in) and to remember game settings on your device. No advertising or tracking cookies.

5. Where your data is stored

Your data is hosted in the European Union (OVH data centres, France). Your data is processed by Zwyk Studio, by the Pi Network platform for the parts that Pi operates (Pi authentication and payments), and — if and only if you choose Google sign-in — by Google as an identity provider, under its own privacy policy.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your account and game data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your game data within a reasonable delay. Transaction records may be kept longer where required to comply with legal or accounting obligations.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting zwykstudio@gmail.com. Consistent with the EU GDPR, you also have the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. No sale of data

We never sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties except: (a) the Pi Network platform, strictly to provide authentication and process payments; (b) Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google, and strictly for authentication; (c) where required by law.

9. Minors

The App is not directed to children under the age required, in their country, to give valid consent (and, on Pi Network, to hold a Pi account). We do not knowingly collect data from such minors. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
