Six seeds. Six pomegranate seeds, not one more, and my fate was sealed for eternity. Hades offered them to me in the dimness of Tartarus, red as embers, and I yielded—who can resist an opened pomegranate? Since then, every autumn I descend to him again, and the earth mourns my absence by withering. Taste these seeds glazed with honey, O mortals, and remember that a single bite can seal a whole life.
